What is SCRIP?
  • SCRIP is "substitute money"
  • When you purchase SCRIP you receive negotiable certificates or cards that can be used like cash to purchase products or services from merchants who have issued them
  • SCRIP can be used to purchase anything from groceries, fuel, clothing, toys and cosmetics to entertainment, electronics, home improvement or household services.
  • Offering freedom of choice and versatility, SCRIP is a great gift idea for anyone or any occasion.

Can't find the SCRIP you're looking for?
Looking for a specific store or merchant? Stop by the SCRIP office to find out what other merchants offering SCRIP are available. See their website:  www.glscrip.com.  This limited SCRIP may be purchased through the SCRIP office.

To special order any limited SCRIP or make large orders, simply call the SCRIP office before Monday at 10am. Leave your name, phone number, the items and quantity of your order along with the total cost of your order on the answering machine. Your SCRIP will be ready for pick-up at the SCRIP office by Thursday.

How much SCRIP?
Each family at Assumption is required to purchase a $100 profit of scrip. (This works out to be about $2400 worth of SCRIP).   Your scrip purchase must be completed by March 31, 2008 to fulfill your commitment at Assumption. You may buyout of your scrip commitment for $200.

Tuition Credit
Twice a year each family will receive a tuition credit for SCRIP purchases. 25% of the "profit" your SCRIP purchases earned will be credited to your school tuition account.

General Information
Here is a year round fund-raiser that requires neither donating nor selling products door-to-door! By purchasing gift certificates through this program for use as cash at a large number of retailers, restaurants, and gas stations, the school earns money and you may receive a tuition discount! Due to volume purchasing, the school purchases the SCRIP at a discount, while consumers pay face value for the “gift certificates”. The program allows you to make a donation to the school every time a bill is paid or a purchase made at participating businesses.

The program requires dependable volunteers including:

  • Two Chairpersons, who are responsible for the program operation.
  • Office Help, who help with deposits, record keeping, and filling orders.
  • Salespeople, who work with sales before and after school.

The hours spent on SCRIP are fundraising hours.

FUN RUN

Each year in March every student in the school runs in the annual Ellen Anderson Fun Run on St. Patrick’s Day. A committee of at least two chairpersons prepares a packet of information for every school family to secure sponsors and collect money for this major fund raising event. The chairs are also responsible for collection and bookkeeping of funds raised.

Fun Run Committee and volunteer tasks include:

  • Bookkeeping
  • Solicit Prizes
  • Advertising
  • Set-Up
  • Lap Recorder

The hours spent on the Fun Run are fundraising hours
