Content : During the school year we will focus on our faith as well as our prayer life through personal prayer, group prayer, art, and liturgies at Mass and prayer services.

We will also look at the choices that we make in the context of our Christianity, our relationships and responsibilities to each other.

Knowledge of the history of the Catholic Church from the time of Jesus is an essential element of our eighth grade year.

Service : We will choose a class service project from the Corporal Works of Mercy (feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, visit the sick, visit the imprisoned, bury the dead).

Service Hours : Eighteen service hours are required each semester. These must be unpaid hours. Keep a list, have parents and supervisors sign the list as hours are completed, and turn in the list to the teacher the last week of the semester. Nine of the service hours are completed through in-school service projects, and nine service hours are to be completed outside of the school day.

Class meetings will take place during religion class time.

Grading : Assignments, tests, behavior, active participation in Mass, and preparation will be averaged for your grade.
