Thank you so much for the wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week. It is so affirming to have such wonderful family support. It is an honor to teach and learn from your children. Thank you for sending your third grader to Assumption Catholic School .
During the week of May 7 th the third grade focused on these concepts.

The selection read by specific groups of students was, “The Extra Good Sunday”. The comprehension skill practiced was being able to visualize what is happening in the story. The phonics/spelling focus was identifying, reading, and writing words that had the suffix ly such as lastly and partly.

This week students practiced multiplying larger numbers with one digit. Students were also practicing accuracy in their adding and multiplying.
RELIGION
The Talking about Touching lessons centered deciding when to ask for help when being bullied, and to identify adults to go to for help. Students also defined what harassment is, understood that it is important to ask for help when being harassed, and to always tell an adult when being harassed.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
I believe the greatest gift I can conceive of having from anyone is to be seen by them, heard by them, to be understood and touched by them. The greatest gift I can give is to see, hear, understand, and to touch another person. When this is done I feel contact has been made.
The poem “Making Contact” Virginia Satir Peace be with you. Susan Roland
